Odontoglossum/Oncidium

I've grouped the two genera Odontoglossum and Oncidium together. Both are natives of the tropical regions of the Americas. They are frequently interbred with each other and with other genera. The hybrids produced are favorites of many amateur orchid growers in the U.S. both because of their availability and their ease of growing.

	Lemboglossum rossi. Grows from Mexico to Nicaragua at intermediate elevations in moist cloud forests. Formerly classified as Odontoglossum. This species and 13 other were placed in a separate genus.		Odontocidium Bittersweet. An hybrid of Oncidium and Odon- toglossum.
	Odontioda Redshine 'Vibrant' (HCC/AOS) X Odontioda Wearside Pattern 'Crimson Star'. The genus Odontioda is derived by crossing the natural genera Odontoglossum and Cochlioda.		Same as left. Close-up of flowers.
	Odontioda Sandarae x Nutley. An hybrid of Odontoglossum (Brazil) and Cochlioda (Andean regions of South America).		Same as left. Close-up of flowers.
	Odontoglossum Summit.		Odontonia Susan Bogdonow. An hybrid of Odontoglossum and Miltonia.
	Oncidium Honolulu, an intra-generic hybrid.		Same as left. Close-up of flowers.
	Oncidium Sharry Baby. A popular hybrid of American growers. The blooms give off a strong fragrance resembling that of chocolate.		Same as left. Close-up of flowers.
	Oncidium sphacelatum. This plant grows like a weed and blooms in great quantities on long spikes. A native of Mexico and Central America.		Oncidium Twinkle 'Red Fantasy'. A micro-miniature hybrid.
